Since its establishment in 2011, the Lanzhou Marathon has been successfully held for nine years (it was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and other factors), and it was widely praised by all walks of life. Among the most influential marathon events in the country (since 2015) selected and voted by the People's Daily Online organisation, Lanzhou Marathon ranked 4th for three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017, 3rd in 2018, and 6th in 2019.

Lanzhou Marathon was ranked 32nd among the most valuable sponsorship sports events of China in 2017 (selection started in 2017, with a separate marathon selection from 2018) voted by the Sports Sponsorship Value Assessment Group formed by the Communication University of China and other organisations, and ranked 7th among the most valuable sponsorship marathons in 2018, and 4th in 2019. It was selected as the top 1 of 10 sports marketing city cases list by the 8th Sports Marketing Annual Conference of China (not held after 2013). For eight consecutive years, it has been awarded the Gold Medal by the China Athletics Association (selection started in 2012). Moreover, for three consecutive years, it has been awarded the Gold Label by World Athletics (it was the youngest "double gold" event in China in 2017).

Lanzhou Marathon is one of the national sports industry demonstration projects named by the National General Administration of China. In 2019, it successfully hosted the World Athletics Road Races Conference, the highest-level conference in the international road races industry (held outside of Europe for the first time). There are 123 event organising committees from 50 countries and regions (including 73 domestic committees and 50 foreign committees), and a total of 606 people (including 132 foreign guests) participated in the conference, which created the highest record in the aspects of participating countries, number of participants, scale, class, etc.  The international influence of the Lanzhou Marathon is constantly improving. Lanzhou Marathon achieves a "lane changing and overtaking ", and is steadily ranking in the first camp of Chinese marathon.

According to the statistics, Lanzhou Marathon has cooperated with more than 500 media companies to promote and report on the event since 2011, covering more than 20 countries and regions in Asia, North America, and Western Europe, and reporting more than 100 million pieces of news in total. CCTV-5 channel has reported news and arranged 8 live broadcasts on the Lanzhou Marathon for 9 consecutive years. In 2018, Lanzhou Marathon collaborated with Lagardère for international live broadcasting, and the signal landed on TV and network channels in more than 130 countries and regions in six continents, covering more than 2 billion people, pioneering "network live broadcasting" for domestic marathons. The live broadcast was synchronised through 60+ network platforms, and the total number of viewers exceeded 100 million. The "Lanzhou Marathon" topic on Weibo was viewed 290 million times, while this topic was viewed 340 million on TikTok, and the total number of short video clicks on all platforms has exceeded 60 million. The brand influence of Lanzhou Marathon covers more than 2.8 billion people, and it is the symbol of Lanzhou's propaganda.
